Two Kashmiris, a woman arrrested along with heroin, ganja, charas

New Delhi, Jun 16 (UNI) In a major haul, police seized substantial amount of fine quality heroin, 'charas' and 'ganja' worth crores and arrested three persons including two Kashmiris and a woman.

In the first incident in North-West Delhi's Hyderpur area, two Kashmiris were arrested early morning yesterday near the water treatment plant on Ring Road along with three kilograms of heroin and 30 kg 'charas', police said today.

While Baramulla resident Rauf Ahmad Khan (21) was arrested along with three kg heroin kept in a polythene bag, his associate Ghulam Kadir Bhatt (36), from Pulwama, had a gunny bag containing 30 kg 'charas'.

However, sensing trouble, the driver of the truck, Mohammad Amin Malla, on which the contraband was being transported, escaped.

Interrogations revealed that both were regulars to trafficking drugs in Punjab and Delhi.

Also, Rauf ran a video cassette shop as a cover up and Ghulam a chemist shop.

In the second incident, police arrested a 38-year-old woman Lakshmi from Raghubir Nagar in West Delhi who was running a drug distribution network for past two years and seized 42 kg of 'ganja' on June 14.

Cash amounting to Rs 5.18 Lakhs was also recovered from her possession.

Her interrogation revealed that she would receive her 'supplies' from Bihar.
