SM leader killed, NC leader and constable injured in Kashmir

Srinagar, June 16 (UNI) A district president of Salvation Movement (SM) was killed while a National Conference (NC) leader and a police constable were injured in the valley overnight, official sources said.

Militants fired upon Ali Mohammad Magray, an NC block president of Keygam Kupwara, near the crowded general bus stand at Batmaloo near here this afternoon at 1340 hours, the sources said.

Magray and one Mohammad Shakoor Mugloo, a Special Police Officer (SPO) of a senior police officer were injured in the shootout. They were later admitted to the hospital.

People present in the area ran for safety after hearing the bullet shots.

Sources said one Bilal Ahmad Ganai, District Sriangar president of SM, who was critically wounded by unidentified gunmen at Chatabal in the down town city on June 13 evening, died in the hospital.
