Ritwik, Saurav cruise into semi-finals
Chennai, Jun 16 (UNI) Reigning champion Ritwik Bhattacharya and fourth seeded Saurav Ghosal of India entered the semifinals of the 10,000 dollar ICL-Chennai Open PSA Squash Championsip here today.
In the quarter finals, Ritwik ousted Pakistan's Yashir Bhat, regaining his touch after losing the first game, 9-11,11-3,11-7, 11-3.
Saurav, ranked 64 among the professionals, was off to a sluggish start losing the first game. But he recovered well to put paid to the hopes of seventh seeded Tom Richards of England winning the contest in four games.
Saurav, who became the first ever Indian to win the coveted British Junior Open Under-19 Squash title last year, won 6-11, 11-7, 17-15, 11-5.
In the other match, third seeded Dylan bennett of Netherlands defeated eight seed Wai Hang Wong of Hong Kong 11-4, 11-8, 10-12, 11-7 to join Saurav in the last four stage.
