Rakhi Sawant approaches NCW; files complaint against Mika

New Delhi, June 16 (UNI) Bollywood performer Rakhi Sawant has filed a complaint of sexual assault against bhangra singer Mika with the National Commission for Women (NCW).

NCW sources told UNI here today that Rakhi, in her complaint, which she e-mailed to the Commission yesterday, alleged that Mika ''brutally assaulted her and ''forcibly smooched'' her.

However at present, the Commission will not be able to act on the complaint as NCW chairperson Girija Vyas is touring Rajasthan and will only return on June 18.

''Ms Vyas might personally hear the case once she returns,'' the sources said.

In the complaint, Rakhi said Mika had ''insulted and sexually assaulted me publically in front of the media''.

Rakhi has also registered a case against the singer alleging that ''Mika had bit her lips twice at his birthday party on June 10 and his gaurds had also assaulted her friend, who tried to intervene''.

The singer was denied interim bail by a sessions court on Wednesday. He will now have to appear before the court on June 17 for his bail plea hearing.
