Raje begins renovation work of Old Pushkar lake

Ajmer, June 18 (UNI) Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today started the renovation work of the old Pushkar lake (Budha Pushkar) which has dried up completely.

Wrapping up the month-long Jal Chetna Yatra at Budha Pushkar today, Mrs Raje said water should be kept separate from issues like religion, nationality and politics, as ''everybody will face equal difficulties if there iss no water.'' She said the villagers have to face water problems in the peak summer seasons, so it was necessary for public servants and political leaders to leave their airconditioned rooms to come face to face with the woes faced by villagers.

Mrs Raje said Budha Pushkar's water is considered as pure as Ganges water and this campaign to refill the lake should be completed with the blessings and hard work of all people.
