Rajasthan issues LOI to BHEL
Jaipur, June 16 (UNI) The Rajasthan government today issued letter of intent (LOI) to Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) for setting up main plants of the new 250 megawatt unit of Suratgarh super thermal power station as well as 195 megawatt unit of Kota super thermal power station.
Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Chairman and Managing Director N S Choudhary informed mediapersons here that the Suratgarh and Kota super thermal power station of the Nigam were being expanded, with an investment of Rs 443 crores and Rs 399 crore respectively.
He said that presently the installed capacity of Suratgarh super thermal power station was 1,250 megawatt and a new unit of 250 megawatt capacity was being added to it.
Similary, the installed capacity of Kota super thermal power station was 1,045 megawatts and a new unit of 195 megawatt was being set up, he added.
''The work of designing, engineering, construction and inspection of new units were also included in the letter of intent issued to BHEL for supply of equipments for main plants of the new units,'' Mr Choudhary said.
He said BHEL had been given the time limit of 28 months for commissioning of the unit-6 of Suratgarh power station and 29 months for commissioning of the unit-7 of Kota station.
