Rajasekharan stresses on values in life
Madikeri, Karnataka, June 16 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Planning M V Rajasekharan today stressed the importance of values in life and said it should never be compromised for personal gains.
Speaking after inaugurating the newly constructed 'Patrika Bhavan' at Somwarpet, he lamented that values of life were deteriorating in many fields, including politics.
Lauding the contribution of journalists to the society, he said scribes were the link between rulers and common people. Without the help of the media, an administration would decline.
The Minister pointed out that under the employment guarantee scheme, the Centre had reserved a fund of Rs 5,000 crore. About 13 crore youth would get employment in the country under the scheme, including one crore from Karnataka.
BJP State President D V Sadananda Gowda called for the elimination of corruption through media reports, but stressed the need for constructive criticism instead of character assassination.
