Hyderabad, Jun 16 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Publishers and Book Sellers Association today faulted the Andhra Pradesh government for delay in supply of text books to school children in the state.

Talking to newsmen here, Association General Secretary and Dachaepalli Publishers Private Limited Managing Director D Vinod Kumar said for the first time state government outsourced printing and distribution of school text books.

But the outsourcing work was not being executed in a systematic way, resulting in text books not reaching the book sellers and the students.

The government has handed over the work to three publishers through tender process and they are supposed to print, distribute books by May 31. But till date it was not known where the books were available, he alleged.

Mr Vinod said the government must intervene and make arrangements for the supply of books through its 3000 book sellers across the state. He said the state government must also withdraw the outsourcing for printing text books and the distribution.
