One killed,2 jawans injured in a militant attack on DSP in Kashmir
Baramulla, June 16 (UNI) Militants this afternoon made an abortive bid on the life of a senior police officer, resulting in on the spot death of a civilian and injuries to his two guards at Bandipora in north Kashmir.
Official sources told UNI that militants fired upon Deputy Superintendent of Police (Dy SP) Fareed Khan near Jamia Mosque at Bandipora when he was on way to his office after offering Friday prayers.
Mr Khan, however, escaped unhurt in the attack, sources said adding one Mohammad Subhan, a civilian died on the spot while two guards of police officer were injured. The injured were admitted to hospital.
A massive hunt has been launched to nab the militants responsible for the attack.
