New K'taka industrial policy on the anvil
Bangalore, June 16 : The Karnataka Government will soon announce its new industrial policy with a stress on promotion of small scale industries in a big way, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy said today.
In his inaugural speach at the Karnataka Industrial and Technology Exhibition here, he said the Government was aware of the role of SSIs in the economic development of the State.
Mr Kumaraswamy assured to hold a round table meeting with industrialists and officials in the next few days for promotion of better inter-departmental cooperation.
Stating that his Government was committed to provide an investment-friendly atmosphere, he said it was particularly interested in developing tier-II cities and taking up programmes to provide infrastructure in those areas without any delay.
The Chief Minister also annonuced to make a payement of Rs 50 crore from the subsidy arrears for SSI units in the next few days.
Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said there was no threat to the coalition Government in the wake of the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor issue and it would be resolved soon.
