New Delhi, June 16 (UNI) Chairman of the oversight committee on quota Veerappa Moily today sought to clarify that the panel had taken no decision to suggest that the implementation of the quota will be deferred or staggerred.

''The discussion are still in a fluid stage, so any report about any decision is speculative, he said in statement here.

He reiterated that the mandate of the committee was to implement 27 per cent reservation and assessment of additional infrastructure to increase seats so that the number of seats available to general category students does not decline.

The committee will present its interim report on July 10 and final report by August end.

The 13-member panel was set up on May 29 with the approval of the Prime Minister in the wake of intensification of the anti-quota stir, and it was specifically mandated to prepare a roadmap for increasing the number of seats in higher educational institutions so that general category students do not suffer as a result of the implementation of 27 per cent quota.
