Minorities status universities in Bangalore, Guwahati
New Delhi, June 16 (UNI) Two universities having a minority status will be set up in Bangalore and Guwahati, under the guidance of the Maulana Azad Educattion Foundation.
This was decided at a meeting of the Foundation yesterday, presided over by Minority Affairs Minister A R Antulay.
Educational institutions from any part of the country can have affilation to these universities. The Guwahati univesity will cater to states from the North-East, while Bangalore Univesity will cater to Southern states.
Mr T P M Ibrahim Khan has been elected as Chairman of the Committee for setting up the Univiersities and also governing body member of the foundation.
