Kolkata, June 16: The Left parties will meet next month in New Delhi to discuss the UPA government's reply to the note served at yesterday's Coordination Committee meeting, veteran CPI(M) leader Jyoti Basu today said.

'' We will sit for a discussion after a month on the issues we have raised in the note given to the UPA government'', he told reporters after attending the party's State Secretariat meeting.

In reply to a question, Mr Basu said the Left parties extending outside support to the ruling coalition government at the Centre were not at all happy at its performaces over the two years.

'' We are not happy at the performace of the government particularly on economic issues and the policy on external affairs.

We have mentioned it in the note,'' Mr Basu pointed out.

The Left had submitted a nine-page note expressing concern over the price rise of essentials, growing terrorist violence in Jammu and Kashmir and North-East and the threat of communalism.

During the eleventh UPA-Left Coordination Committee meeting held at the Prime Minister's residence, the Left parties told the government to take necessary steps to bring down the fuel prices.

The Left parties had sought 'written assurance' from the government on FDI in retail, price rise, social security for unorganised workers and foreign policy.

In the note the Left parties made it clear that they were not satisfied with the functioning of the Coordination Committee.
