Jairam Ramesh to visit Petrapole

Kolkata, June 16 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh will lead a high-level official delegation on a visit to Petrapole, the main trade route in West Bengal between India and Bangladesh, on June 19.

Almost all Bangladesh emports to India and about 80 per cent Indian exports to Bangladesh goes through this route.

An official release today said Mr Ramesh would visit the site and meet the officials concerned.

The official delegation accompanying the Minister comprises Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Veena Sikri, Additional Secretary (Border Management) R S Sirohi, Commerce Department Joint Secretary M V P C Sastry and other senior officials of the Ministries of Finance, Railways, Central Warehousing Corporation, Border Security Force and the West Bengal Government.
