Identify the sympathisers of terrorists in J

Jammu, June 16 (UNI) Former governor of Goa and senior BJP leader Kedar Nath Sahni today criticised the Centre for lack of determination to tackle terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir and asked it to identify the sympathisers and shelters of terrorists and deal effectively with them.

Mr Sahni, addressing mediapersons here, said sympathisers of terrorists are the main reason for the very existence of terrorism in the state. They are in every section - in state government, in administration, also in public, and untill these people are not identified, the fight against terrorism can not be taken to its logical end, he added.

Coming down heavily on the Congress led governments at the Centre and the State for accusing the BJP for vitiating atmosphere in the state by launching ''Satyagraha'' here, he claimed that instead of fulfilling its prime duty of protecting the life and property of people of the state, particularly the minority community, both the Governments are busy diverting the people's attention from the real issue.

The BJP stalwart said the party wanted to present the real picture of terrorism in the state to the country men viz-a-viz the Government policies, through its Satyagraha programme and has been successful in its objectives. He denied that the party's ''Satyagraha'' was in anyway politically motivated.

He claimed that a conspiracy is being hatched from across the border and by some other countries to change the demography of the state by mass exodus to weaken the country. He asked the Centre and the State governments to take on violence mongers with more determination as half-hearted approach would not have any results.

Mr Sahni also criticised the government for terming the BJP agitation as 'Muslim vs Hindus' fight and said that it had committed a crime by dragging whole of the Muslim community in the controversy. He further added that many Muslims in the State have sacrificed their life fighting against terrorism.
