Shimla, June 16 (UNI) Demanding that the enquiry report on the alleged irregularities in the Himachal Pradesh pre medical test (PMT) should be made public, two aggrieved students today said this will only reveal the ''seriousness'' of the enquiry.

The enquiry ordered by the University Vice-Chancellor was nothing more than an ''eyewash'', Akarshan Chauhan and Bhanu Pratap Singh said in a joint press release here.

Parents of students who had appeared for the state's PMT examination have alleged irregularities in the examination, saying several students of a single area were selected, while students who had qualified the national examinations had failed to pass the state entrance examination.

Mr. Singh and Mr. Chauhan said they had never expected any relief from the committee, which they claimed was formed only to ''mislead'' the students and their parents, under whose pressure an enquiry was ordered and added that they still stand by for their demand for an independent enquiry by the CBI or a sitting judge of the Himachal Pradesh High Court.

The students said they were not surprised over the HP University's decision to declare the merit list without studying the enquiry report and said it proved the seriousness of the administration in investigation the irregularities in the examination.
