Good Knight mosquito repellent to cost more

New Delhi, June 16 (UNI) Popular mosquito repellent Good Knight will now cost more because of the recent hike in petroleum prices, Godrej Sara Lee Ltd (GSLL) said today.

The price hike will range from Rs 3 in the high selling Good Knight 90 Night refills, to Rs 21 in the Ambipur Car Perfume Starter Kit.

Good Knight 90 Night refills will now cost Rs 66 from the earlier Rs 63, while Ambipur Car Starter Kit will be available at Rs 165 instead of Rs 144.

The price of the Ambipur Car Gift pack has risen by Rs 25 from the earlier rate of Rs 250.

''We have been compelled to raise prices as petroleum-related input costs and freight charges, the world over, have witnessed a sharp increase,'' company Executive Vice President (Sales and Marketing) Vivek Mathur said here.

The price rise is necessary to maintain the quality of the products, he added.

The prices of HIT Crawling Insect Aerosol (250 ml) and HIT Flying Insect Aerosol (250 ml) have also been effected by Rs 3 each to cost Rs 69 and Rs 66 respectively.

Over the last one year, prices of petroleum-based ingredients as well as transportation costs have gone up by 11-15 per cent.

Costs of paper-based ingredients and natural ingredients have also risen by 5 per cent.

GSLL is a joint venture between Sara Lee Corporation and the Godrej Group. Its major brands, Good Knight, Jet and Hit, command over one-third share of the home insecticides market in India.
