Ecuador's success no surprise to Brazil coach
KOENIGSTEIN, Germany, June 15 (Reuters) Ecuador's good start to the World Cup has come as no surprise to Carlos Alberto Parreira, coach of champions Brazil.
Ecuador qualified for the second round by beating Costa Rica 3-0 today, their second win in two matches in Group A.
''They are not surprising us,'' Parreira told reporters.
''During the qualifiers we lost 1-0 to them at altitude in Quito and beat them 1-0 at home.
''They did very well in qualifying, they look very strong and healthy, they're good technically and well organised. They're merely living up to expectations.'' Ecuador are playing at their second World Cup, having qualified for the first time in 2002.
