Custody deaths ignite mass protest in Bihar
Samastipur, June 16 (UNI) Two youths died in police custody at Tajpur police station in Samastipur district, triggering widespread public protests.
In a swift action, the administration, however, placed the officer-in-charge of the police station under suspension and ordered filing of cases of murder against the police officer.
District Magistrate Maheshwar Prasad Singh said that a probe had been ordered into the custodial deaths of Japan Rai and Rajesh Sah of Harpur Bhindi village last night.
Both of them were arrested on charges of kidnapping a four-year-old boy.
