Condom scam: Two accused's police remand extended

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, June 16 (UNI) A local court today extended police remand of the two accused,in the condom scam-Hemant Mirkhelkar (42) and Bandu Kulkarni (32) till June 19.

The court however, reserved its order on an application of the third accused Shirish Boralkar.

Shirish Boralkar and Hemant Mirkhelkar were the directors the compnay, while Kulkarni was the supervisor at the company.

The trio allegedly collected condoms distributed free by the government and sold them to the authorities after re-packaging them under the brand of Deogiri Latex Private Ltd, a compnay owned and managed by them.

The local police unearthed the scam on March 28 after locals alerted them. The police seized a large quantity of condoms meant for public distribution and also found that the employees of Deogiri Latex Pvt Ltd were engaged in re-packaging the condoms.
