Brown sugar seized from Asom-Nagaland border
Diphu, Jun 16 (UNI) Brown sugar worth over Rs 1 crore was seized near Asom-Nagaland border in Karbi Anglong district of Asom last night, police today said.
It was seized from the Md. Salim Colony in Lahorijan area under Khatkhati outpost under Bokajan police station in the district in a raid led by Bokajan SDPO B Kramsa, police said.
Two persons, identified as Md Jahangir and Azad alias Ekman, were also arrested.
The area is a major hub of drug traffickers with the smugglers using the place to bring in drugs to Asom from Myanmar via Nagaland.
