Hyderabad, June 16 : Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu today demanded that the Centre convene a meeting of all state chief ministers to discuss the issue of hike in prices of petroleum products.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Naidu said the UPA government should organise the meet and discuss the issue of rationalisation of sales tax on petro products in the states.

Uniform sales tax would be the only solution to reduce petrol prices in all states, he said, adding that the BJP ruled states could not lower the petro rates because they had adopted different sales tax methods.

Mr Naidu said the party would continue the movement against the price hike by organising agitation and dharnas in all district headquarters in the state on June 19.
