Bhaktipada Ghosh elected Dy Speaker of Bengal assembly

Kolkata, June 16 (UNI) Forward Bloc legislator Bhaktipada Ghosh was today elected unopposed as Deputy Speaker of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly.

Election of Mr Ghosh was unanimous as Oppositions parties Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Congress did not field any candidate for the post.

Earlier on June 12, Mr Hasim Abdul Halim was unanimously elected as the Speaker.

The TMC had boycotted the election.
