Azlan Shah Cup hockey live on ESPN STAR Sports

New Delhi, June 16 (UNI) ESPN STAR Sports will telecast the Azlan Shah Cup live when the 15th edition of the Eight-Nation hockey tournament kicks off in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.

In all, 18 matches would be telecast live on both the channels, according to a release here today.

India will be participating for the eleventh time in the tournament. Defending Champions Australia have won the tournament four times, with India and Pakistan each winning it thrice and Germany winning twice.

England and South Korea have won it once each. India emerged victorious in 1985, 1991 and 1995. Other notable performance by the Indian team came in 1983 and 2000 when Indian stood third.

This year the tournament is divided in to two pools with India , Australia , Malaysia and Korea in one pool and Pakistan, Netherlands, Argentina and New Zealand battling in the other. The top two teams after a round robin league in each pool will clash in the semifinals of the tournament.
