Asom situation reviewed
Guwahati, Jun 16 (UNI) The Union Home Ministry today reviewed the law and order situation in Asom with top officials of the State Government.
Joint Secretary, Home, Rajiv Agarwal today flew in from New Delhi and rushed to the Janata Bhawan where he had more than hour-long with meeting with top officials.
DGP Deepak Narayan Dutta, IGP(SB) Khagen Sharma besides Chief Secretary S K Kabilan were present in the meeting.
The Home Ministry was concerned at the recent incidents of violence where the ULFA exploded not less than 20 bombs killing altogether nine people.
The Union Government termed it as "pressure tactics" by the ULFA before the June 22 meeting between the Peoples Consultative Group (PCG) and the Union Government.
