Ask Pak, Bangladesh to protect Hindu temples, Centre told
Bangalore, June 16 (UNI) Rashtriya Hindu Sena Karnataka unit President Pramod Muthalik today urged the Union Government to exert pressure on Pakistan and Bangladesh to protect Hindu temples in those countries.
Strongly condemning the demolition of Sri Krishna temple in Pakistan and Dakeshwari (Kali) temple in Bangladesh recently, he told newspersons here that in India, protection was given to all places of worship, whether it was constructed with or without permission. Contrary to this, Hindu temples were demolished elsewhere.
Mr Muthalik took strong exception to Moulvis issuing 'Fatwa' against Muslims reciting 'Vandemataram'. ''Those who do not want to show respect to the national song should quit the country. The Moulvis who issued Fatwa should be punished,'' he said.
He said his party would launch a Statewide agitation on June 21 in protest against the recent attack on Hindus allegedly by a section of people belonging to a minority community in Tilak Nagar here. Five nursing students were injured and property worth lakhs of Rupees were destroyed. The Government should compensate the affected and arrest those involved in the attack, he demanded.
