'Ashtadhatu' idol worth several crores looted

Mau, June 16 (UNI) A rare 'ashtadhatu' idol worth several crores of rupees was looted by unidentified persons from the Ram-Janaki temple in Sarailakhansi area here today.

Police said four unidentified armed miscreants barged in the ancient temple and took the priest on gun-point.

Later, they decamped with the two-foot tall idol.

A manhunt had been launched to nab the culprits.
