Agriment on Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute Renewed(Lower Case)

New Delhi, June 16 (UNI) The Union Cabinet today authorised the department of Secondary and Higher Education to renew the agreement on Shastri Indo-Canandian Institute for the next five years.

The Government of India provides financial assistance to the Institute for maintenance of its Delhi office and for the promotion of Indian studies in Cananda. The Government will also provide Rs 13.45 crores as total assistance to the Institute for the entire period of 2006-2011.

The programmes undertaken by the Institute are broadly fulfilling the objectives of supporting and promoting knowledge among the scholars of two countries and in enhancing mututal understanding between India and Canada.
