A criminal writ petition filed against home commissioner

Patna, Jun 16 (UNI) A criminal writ petition was filed in Patna High Court against Bihar Home Secretary Afzal Amanullah on charges of tampering with official records to favour a senior doctor.

A former surgeon of Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) Dr U P Singh in his petition had alleged that Mr Amanaullah in his capacity as medical education secretary had fudged official records containing details of dates of birth with a view to help Dr Abdul Kasim Sidiqqui become head of surgery department in PMCH.

Dr Singh contended that he was senior to Dr Sidiqqui and was fully eligible to head the surgery department in PMCH but Dr Sidiqqui managed to supercede him with the help of Mr Amanullah.

He also prayed the court to give suitable direction for removal of Mr Amanullah from his present post and also for institution of a criminal case against him.
