41 new, composite hospitals for BSF jawans

Jaisalmer, June 16 (UNI) The Border Security Force will open 41 new, modern, composite hospitals across the country for its personnel and their families.

Central Reserve Police Force's acting additional director general (Health), Dr N Mishra, who is here on a tour, said the health facilties for the BSF jawans and their soldiers are reviewed from time to time and a high-level committee was set up especially for this purpose, which worked upon the Armed Forces Medical System.

Under the new scheme, 41 modern and composite hospitals will be set up across the country which will range from 32 to 50 bedded hospitals. Another eight 100-bedded hospitals and one 200 bedded hospital in New Delhi are also on the anvil. A total of Rs 40.5 crore is being spent on the project.

He said eight emergency mobile hospitals have also been provided to meet any emergency in terrorist hit areas like Jammu and Kashmir and other areas. Two of these unitas are stationed in Baramulla and Srinagar areas, Mr Mishra said.
