3 shot dead in UP capital

Lucknow, June 16 (UNI) Two unidentified motorcycle-borne miscreants today shot dead three persons in Krishnanagar area of the Uttar Pradesh capital.

Police said the assailants intercepted a sports utility vehicle (SUV) near Barabirwa locality and started indiscriminate firing.

Two SUV passengers and an unidentified rickshaw-puller nearby were killed.

The slain men were identified as Suresh Yadav of Rajajipuram area and Sunil Kumar of Malihabad, police added.

Enmity was said to be the reason behind the crime.

The police later recovered the motorcycle used in the crime. It bore a fake registration number.

Meanwhile, SSP G K Goswami has suspended Krishnanagar police station officer Vijay Shankar and four constables.
