1500 installations demolished on NH 35

Bongaon, Jun 16(UNI) About 1,500 unauthorised and illegal installations, including houses and shops, were demolished from the sides of the National Highway 35 to ease movement of traffic.

Official sources said today that Jessore Road, that links Jessore district of Bangladesh through Petrapol, would be expanded for the purpose. The government had planned to improve the infrastructure here making Petrapol a land port for increasing international trading, official sources said .

The district administration had served notice to the unauthorized occupiers to leave the place since January, police sources said.
