St Lucia, June 15 (UNI) Assistant Police Commissioners from across the region are working overtime to devise a security master plan to avert any untoward incident when the Caribbeanhosts the World Cup early next year.

Not taking any chance, the organisers are working on a foolproof security system and the proposed master plan would hold key as the organisers hope for a World Cup without any hiccup.

A CMC report quoted ICC Communications Director Marvia Roach as saying that security was a sensitive subject anmd the organiser won't take any chance.

''We have undertaken a number of preparedness and testing exercises which are included in security under the overall format, we have a grouping of Assistant Commissioners from around the region who will attend as part of the security directorate.

''They work together, they share information and have worked on the master security plan,'' she said.

''There is an awareness that we need to become sensitive to the fact that the region may suddenly become the focus of the type of activity that Caribbean people are not necessarily aware of, because we are not, like in North America, the UK, Teheran or one of those places that are engaged in conflict with another nation.

''While security arrangements will cover all of these considerations, there are also the very simple things related to personal safety and security, and the things that we would and would not allow patrons to bring to the ground,'' Ms Roach added.
