Taj Mahal to be declared no-fly zone
Agra, Jun 15: The area around the Taj Mahal here has been declared a no-fly zone to enchance the security of the famous monument.
A proposal to this effect has already been sent to the centre for approval.
Agra Divisional Commissioner Ashok Kumar told UNI here today there was no restriction on flying above the Taj till now.
''A recent meeting between high ranking air force officials and district administration decided to declare the 7.4 km area around Taj Mahal as a no-fly zone,'' he informed.
The Centre has also been requested to provide more ground security support to the monument in addition to the local police and Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) jawans.
