Sub inspector killed in road accident

Kancheepuram, Jun 15 (UNI) A Sub-inspector of police attached to the high-way patrol wing, was killed in a road accident at Acharapakkam near here this afternoon.

Police said Mr Vajravelu (58), the Sub-inspector of police, was returning home in his moped after the morning duty, when a tipper lorry hit his vehicle from behind.

The police officer, who suffered serious injuries after being thrown out of the vehilce, was rushed to the Chengalpattu Medical College hospital, where he succumbed to injuries, police said.
