Simlipal closed for visitors

Baripada, June 15 : With the onset of the monsoon the Simlipal Tiger Reserve (STR) and the National Park will remain closed for the visitors from June 16 next, STR sources said here today.

The culverts, bridges and the road network inside the park get damaged during the monsoon rains disrupting communication system of the STR.

According to STR Deputy Director Bejoy Kumar Behera, the park would remain clsed for four-and-half-months till October 31.

The Park will re-open for the visitors tentatively from November 1, Mr Behera said.
