Sensex opens strong on resumed buying today
Mumbai, Jun 15: The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex spurted in the opening move by 204 points on resumed buying by the investors after witnessing one of the sharpest fall since December last year.
The Sensex opened at 9,133.23 and touched a high of 9,294.42 and a low of 9,103.93 as other emerging markets saw dramatic recovery in their preformance.
Key benchmark indices in countries like Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, and Indonesia were up between 0.16-1.4 per cent.
Major gainers on the BSE index were Wipro up by 3.48 per cent, L&T by 3.47 per cent, BHEL by 3.32 per cent, Tata Motors by 3.05 per cent, Infosys Tech by 3.04 and TISCO by 2.75 per cent.
The losers were ONGC down by 1.08 per cent, HDFC by 0.01 per cent and Infosys by 0.11.
