Released prisoners happy over treatment in jail
Visakhapatnam, Jun 15 (UNI) Forty seven fishermen including several political activists released from the Central jail last night were happy with the treatment meted out to them at Adavivaram on the outskirts of the city.
One of the prisoners who was released said the jail authorities behaved well and allowed visitors daily to meet them.
The CPI, CPI(M) district secretaries and Gangavaram Matsyakarula Aikya Vedika (GMAV) leaders were also released from the jail.
The activists of GMAV said they were accorded political prisoner status and offered special meals on request.
All those who were released have been charged with attempt to murder and rioting.
The court had ordered the non-fishermen not to visit Gangavaram village and port site till further orders.
