Ramadoss rejects charges of AIIMS Director, docs

New Delhi, June 15: Dismissing the charge that he was interfering with the functioning of AIIMS, Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss today said the administration of the premier institution was not performing its duties well for the past two years.

''Every body knows that the AIIMS administration is not doing its job well for the past two years,'' Dr Ramadoss said on a private television channel.

Referring to AIIMS Director P Venugopal's threat to resign, the Health Minister said he is welcome to do so.

''If a person wants to resign he is free to do so. He should go ahead and not wait for others to stop him,'' he added.

He said his only interference was that he got a budget of Rs 500 crore for the institution and completed some of the pending projects, including the oncology block.

Dr Venugopal accused the Health Ministry of a systematic and intentional undermining of the institute for the last two years.
