Prosecution of BPSC chief sanctioned
Patna, Jun 15 (UNI) The Bihar Government has sanctioned prosecution of Bihar Public Service Commission(BPSC) Chairman Ramsinghasan Singh under various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act, thus paving the way for his trial in the court.
The state vigilance investigation bureau today filed sanction order of the state government for prosecuting Dr Singh and member S B Chaudhary under the said Act before special vigilance judge of Patna Ramnivas Prasad.
The case was related to irregularities committed in the Bihar Administrative Services (Limited) Competitive Examination, conducted by BPSC in 2003. Both the accused are now languiishing in jail in connection with the case.
Vigilance bureau had already submitted chargesheet in the case.
The court had taken cognizance under different sections of Indian Penal Code on the basis of the said chargesheet, but the cognizance could not been taken under PC Act for want of the sanction order.
