Noted educationist passes away

Hyderabad, Jun 15 (UNI)Noted educationist and former Vice Chancellor of the Ambedkar Open University Prof Afzal Mohammed died due to cardiac arrest here today.

He was 75. He is survived by wife and three children.

Dr Mohammed, who worked in the Geography department of the Osmania University, later joined the Centre for Economic and Social Studies as Special Officer and Senior Professor. After retirement, he served for two terms as the Vice Chancellor of the Ambedkar Open University and was incharge Vice Chancellor of the JNTU for six months.

He later became the Chairman of the Shadan institutions three years ago and was serving in that position till his death.
