Letter written to CS 'privileged communication': Bhatt

Mumbai, June 15 (UNI) Special Public Prosecutor in the Pramod Mahajan murder case, Shrikant Bhatt today refused to comment on his purported letter to Chief Secretary D K Shankaran terming it 'privileged communication.' Speaking to UNI on telephone, Mr Bhatt said,''It is important for all concerned people to understand a lawyer's point of iew, handling a sensitive case. Both, the Government of Maharashtra and Police are my clients. Hence any communication between us should remain confidential''.

''This is a matter between me and my client (State of Maharasthra), it is privileged communication and also a confidential communication. Therefore it will be highly improper on my part to discuss or react about the issue in public,'' he maintained.

Referring to a report in a tabloid regarding his letter, Mr Bhatt said, ''I will act on it accordingly and would not like to comment on the issue at this moment''.

The report had said he had shot a letter to the Chief Secretary drawing the latter's attention to several 'loopholes' on the ongoing police investigation expressing his dissatisfaction.
