Honour for GAIL unit in AP

Rajahmundry, Jun 15 (UNI) The Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) unit here bagged a gold medal and certificate of merit for its contribution to the Indian Red Cross Society for the year 2005-06.

GAIL Deputy General Manager Narendra Kumar received the medal and certificate from Andhra Pradesh Governor Rameshwar Thakur at Hyderabad today.

A GAIL release said it contributed Rs 3.5 lakh under corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme to the society towards supply of furniture to the residential high school for physically challenged children at Kakinada in West Godavari District.

The organisation was providing continued assistance for developmental activities in thrust areas like infrastructure and community development, it added.
