HC disposes 2370 cases in vacation

Patna, Jun 15 (UNI) Patna High Court disposed off 2370 cases during summer vacation despite more than 50 per cent of the total sanctioned posts of the Judges remaining vacant.

Justice S N Hussain told mediapersons that the High Court was facing shortage of the Judges but arrangemets were being made to dispose of more cases during the summer vacation than the last year during the same period.

Talking to mediapersons, Registrar General of the court Madhusudan Singh said two single benches were formed during the last year summer vacation but this year six additional single benches were formed for speedy disposal of the cases.

He said altogether 1259 case were disposed off during the last year summer vacation, of which number of criminal cases was 1235.

Mr Singh said with the increase of six more single benches, a record number of 2370 cases including 2164 criminal cases were disposed off during the summer vacation this year.
