HC directs status quo on Kovalam Palace
Kochi, June 15 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today directed the state government to maintain status quo in the matter of taking possession of the Kovalam Palace near Thiruvananthapuram.
Justice C N Ramachandran Nair said that status quo as on date should be maintained till Monday.
The Court issued this directive when the counsel for Leela Hotels Ltd mentioned that the government authorities were ''taking hasty steps'' to evict Leela Hotels from the buildings now occupied by them in the Kovalam Palace premises.
It was submitted that a writ petition challenging the takeover of the Kovalam Palace by the state government was pending consideration before the court.
