Germany fly through storm on way back to Berlin
BERLIN, June 15 (Reuters) Germany's World Cup squad flew through a spectacular thunder storm on their way back to base after yesterday's last-gasp 1-0 win over Poland in Group A.
''There were so many lights in the sky we thought we were being followed by a plane full of photographers,'' Germany team manager Oliver Bierhoff joked at a news conference today.
Rain started to pour down a few minutes after the game in Dortmund had finished and the change in the weather made for a bumpy flight back to Berlin.
''There was a lot of turbulence but the players are so used to flying there were no jitters,'' Bierhoff said.
