Five labourers killed in a road mishap

Hubli, June 15 (UNI) Five labourers were killed and 30 others injured when a tipper, in which they were travelling, hit a roadside tree near Lokapur of Bagalkot District today.

Superintendent of Police Ramesh Harihar told UNI that the tipper was carrying labourers from Soundati Taluka in Belgaum District for work at Kadarkop Canal in Bagalkot District when the mishap occurred.

While two were killed on the spot three succumbed to injuries in the hospital.

The injured have been admitted to Government Hospital at Kerodi and Bagalkot.
