Hyderabad, June 15 (UNI) The seat-sharing talks between the UPA constitutents, Congress, and the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) for the two-phase panchayat elections in Andhra Pradesh beginning on June 28, made little headway, according to senior TRS leader and Union Minister of State A Narendra.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Narendra said contrary to the assurance given by state Congress leaders, including Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, district level leaders were not reciprocating the TRS' gesture of asking for lesser number of seats than its strength to ensure that the alliance between the two parties was intact.

Accusing the district Congress leaders of ''humiliating'' his party colleagues, he said ''We are not beggars. We want our due share''. Congressmen were asking the TRS to share the seats in a particular assembly held by it. But the Congress is not coming forward to provide TRS its due share in the Assembly constituencies presently held by the Congress and the TDP, he said.

In a last ditch effort, another round of talks would be held with the Chief Minister tonight to break the deadlock over seat-sharing.
