Chhattisgarh govt earns praise from Vajpayee, Advani

New Delhi, Jun 15 (UNI) The performance of the BJP-led government in Chhattisgarh has come in for praise from party elders Atal Bihari Vajpayee and L K Advani who have commended it for successfully blending development with peace.

Senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu, who was speaking to newspersons today after a meeting of the party core group convened by BJP chief Rajnath Singh for a mid-term review of the performace of the Raman Singh government, said both Mr Vajapayee and Mr Advani lauded it for steering the Naxal-affected state and bringing in peace and development.

The government, he said, had maintained good understanding with the party organisation.

Mr Advani suggested the Chief Minister should hold weekly Legislature Party meetings during the Assembly Session on the lines of the Parliamentary Party meetings.

Mr Rajnath Singh, in his address, expressed happiness that the government was doing a good job and asked the state ministers to visit the BJP offices in districts whenever they were on tour to instill confidence in party workers.

The BJP had decided to conduct a mid-term review of the performance of individual states where it was in power at the recently-concluded party National Executive here.
