Centre committed to peace in J and K : Jaiswal

Jammu, June 15 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Home Sri Prakash Jaiswal today reiterated Centre's commitment to establishing peace in strife-torn Jammu and Kashmir.

Mr Jaiswal, who was here to review security for Vaishno Devi and Amarnath yatra pilgrims, told mediapersons the recent spurt in insurgency in the state was the result of growing frustration of insurgents.

The Minister took stock of the security at a meeting with the BSF, CRPF and state police personnel.

He said that the peace process was going on well and any attempts to derail it would be dealt with effectively. ''The people of the state are fed up with the gun culture and desire peace,'' Mr Jaiswal said.
